[SuSE Linux] Internet Connection Problem

I have trying to set up my internet connection.... it get connected but every time it start pppd, an error occurs...stating"pppd deamons died unexpectedly" What's does this really means.... I am using Linux 6.0 on Pentium Celeron 300 with kernel 2.0.36. In X-windows open up the Kppp interface by selecting the "internet" option. Click on setup and then go for the "device" tab. Back space the lock file. If it's not this then look at your passwords and user name. Edit your /etc/ppp/options file and remove the word "lock".
