I'll second this, but I don't think you go far enough. This is probably the best iptables reference there is; no offence to Rusty Russell, but his How-To's are all too often excessively cryptic and difficult to follow. Although the frozentux tutorial is iptables-specific, it gives very clear explanations which can be applied to any firewall software, including many excellent diagrams to show network traffic flow. Someone starting at "beginner" level can easily become quite proficient in building an iptables firewall with nothing but this tutorial as a reference. This together with the advanced routing how-to at http://lartc.org/ make what I feel to be a complete reference package for everything anyone needs to know about Linux firewalling, routing and traffic control.
