[opensuse] Dell Latitude D630 feedback
Hi All, I'm about to buy myself a brand new Laptop for Christmas :-) and I thought of the Dell Latitude D630. I'm looking around for any kind of information about the hardware compatibility (unfortunately that model is not listed on opensuse.org) and I would like to have some feedback from you guys. The two things I'm worry about the most is the graphic card "nVidia Quadro NVS 135M" and the wireless card "Intel 3945ABG". As far as you experienced, does these work flawless with 10.3? What about the Desktop Effects with that card? Thanks, Jan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I use a D630 and D820. Both work great. For wireless if you are running non encypted ap there is a bug in ipw3945 but there is a buildservice with an update ipw driver that works: See bug: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=330995 I would suggest getting the nVidia and not the built in Intel as you've looked at. That's great to know. I took a look at the bug. It's a quite long bug. I'll check it out flatly as soon as I have the "happy problem" :-) Anyway, it seems to work properly with ifup instead of KNetworkManager. I'd say that's enough.
