I tried testing memory on my computer with 11.0. I have 8 Gbytes of ram on a gigabyte m61 with a x2 6000 processor Every time I tried testing it, it would freeze. I found an older version of suse 9.3 and it was successfully able to test the memory. am I wrong, or did the 11.0 version use an older version. in 9.3, they were using memtest 3.2. Under 11.0, it seemed to me they have mem test 2.02. -- Joseph Loo jloo@acm.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

There are two different "Memtest86"s, original "Memtest86" and "Memtest86+", which is derived from Memtest86. See: http://www.memtest86.com/ http://www.memtest.org/ SUSE Linux 9.3 uses Memtest86(its latest version is 3.4), openSUSE 11.0 uses Memtest86+(its latest version is 2.01). If you wish to use original Memtest86, you can download its ISO image from: http://www.memtest86.com/download.html Regards, -- _/_/_/ To be Happy! _/_/_/ _/_/ Satoru Matsumoto _/_/ _/ helios_reds@gmx.net _/ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
