I read that the driver for this card is integrated into Xfree86 3.3.3, so i checked their website for info about the integration. The site said the card is supported via the xsvga server. Does anyone know if this server is accelerated for the card? I was surprised it is under xsvga...the MGA-G200 chipset is fast and has many features and I thought it would be supported under a separate accelerated server and not in a generic server. just wondering...
On the SuSE home page, there is a link for SuSE X Servers. There is one specifically for Matrox G200 cards. There are subject to the same licence as XFree86 servers and are freely available.

I have a plain old generic SVGA card right now, but I want to purchase an accellerated video card with TV out capabilities... The Matrox Mystique AGP card has video / TV out capabilities... Do the SuSE drivers support the video out capabilities of the Mystique? If not, are there any accellerated AGP video cards with TV out capabilities, that are supported by the SuSE 6.0 distribution? I'm getting ready to purchase a new digital video camcorder, and want to plug it directly into the computer... Are there any AGP cards that support not only TV video output, but video input as well, and are they supported by the new SuSE 6.0 distribution? Well, unfortunately there is no support for these different video solutions (AFAIK!). There are some special TV-Cards using the BT848 chipset (e.g. Hauppauge Win TV/PCI), these are supported by a special package. Lenz, This card is rather new. I have the Hauppauge Wincast-dbx card, which cuurently not configured and it may be a good one, but due to some of the fear of blowing way the eeprom I've held off. Matrox, I've been told, is more friendly to Linxu developers than is Hauppauge; more likely to provide necessary info. Would you expect that future drivers with fuller capabilites will become available for the G200? In a similar vane I've heard the Diamond MX200 is a great sound card, but my impression is that Diamond is very unfriendly toward Linux. These attitudes will determine whose products I purchase in the future. Regards, Bob Russell Lenz Grimmer wrote:

I run my G200 under Xi Graphics most happily. It's a Millenium 8meg AGP G200. Excellent and fast.
