[opensuse] Sun Java 1.60 update dependencies.
I sent this out a few days ago and haven't had a single reply. No ideas out there? The problem is still occurring. tnx jk ------------------------------------------------------------------- I am being advised of security updates that are available for java-1_6_0-sun. However, when I try to get the update, I get error messages about missing dependencies. I'm running 64 bit SUSE 10.3. That's your issue. There are probabaly no new plugins that are compatible. Are you running 64-bit Java or 32-bit? If you're running 32-bit then you should be okay. I'd ignore the conflict and continue (you can always downgrade later). The worst that would happen in this instance is that you'd be unable to run applets from your browser. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

We have additional requirements now, that java-1_6_0-sun-plugin requires the java-1_6_0-sun packages in the same architecture. There is a bugreport open for this, you can cc yourself. I have the 64 bit java-1_6_0-sun and 32 bit java-1_6_0-sun-plugin installed. How do I install the 32 bit? When I try to add it, by selecting that version at the bottom of the screen, Yast Software Management dies. -- Use OpenOffice.org http://www.openoffice.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I have the 64 bit java-1_6_0-sun and 32 bit java-1_6_0-sun-plugin installed.
This will make the plugin not work at all.

Urks. I had the same problem, but I had to deinstall it, and the install it fresh, and chose the version in the selector. Ciao, Marcus -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

OK, I removed 64 bit java-1_6_0-sun and installed the 32 bit version and reinstalled the 32 bit plug-in. I also have the 64 bit java-1_5_0, which is used by OpenOffice and all appears OK now. tnx -- Use OpenOffice.org http://www.openoffice.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
