RE: [SLE] Pentium 4, before you all get too excited :)
:o) www.tomshardware.com also has some rather humerous benchmarks comparing P4, P3 and Athlon...
If i can remember right, a PC mag i saw reported: P4 1.5GHz - 880MFlops (approx) Athlon 1GHz - 1200MFlops (approx)
Although admitidly P4 is better than Athlon at 3D games performance...
Actually the report contradicts that ! Only one of the big 3D ganes was better (i cannot remember which one) .. that will only change when

Also, the P4 only works with RDRAM, big big bucks. Apparently there will be a model late next year that uses "ordinary" ram. What spec. machine do you have in short ? I am going to buy a new one soon, am always looking for tips (though I wont be buying a 1 Ghz ..). The problem is not finding out whether linux works on a piece of hardwar, but whether all the hardware works together... Cliff

Anyone thinking of buying (wasting) their money on a Pentium 4 system may just care to peruse the link below first.
