Probably an old and meanwhile outdated DocumentRoot setting in your particular /etc/cups/cupsd.conf file. If you have a DocumentRoot setting in your /etc/cups/cupsd.conf file, it should help to remove it so that the cupsd uses its built-in value which is set during compile-time and matches to our cups RPM packages. See https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=472510 and http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=546023 and http://www.cups.org/str.php?L3578 and "rpm -q --changelog cups". What I see is here: <http://susepaste.org/5123280>. There are no icons.

I have no such setting.
I don't have a DocumentRoot setting.
The directory "/usr/share/doc/packages/cups" contains: CHANGES-1.0.txt CHANGES-1.1.txt CHANGES-1.2.txt CHANGES-1.3.txt CHANGES.txt CREDITS.txt INSTALL.txt LICENSE.txt README.txt which I do not know if it is correct or no. On a 11.2 there are many more files. However, the pages that display ugly are all, like for example: https://localhost:631/admin http://[::1]:631/ https://localhost:631/printers/ Not only the documentation pages. See <http://susepaste.org/5123280> for an example. I don't see anything in the rpm of cups for that directory, but instead there are files in "/usr/share/cups". I think the right place is "/usr/share/cups/webcontent/". I tried: DocumentRoot /usr/share/cups/webcontent/ and restarted the service, no difference. Then tried DocumentRoot /usr/share/cups/, neither.
I don't have the "/usr/share/doc/cups" path. I have /usr/share/cups/webcontent/, but the icons and data there are not displayed.
"rpm -q --changelog cups".

It looks ugly. No pictures. And the pictures seem to be in "/usr/share/cups/webcontent/images", why not use them?

So, you mean that this downgraded view is what we have now? What a shame. The old system was easier to control, direct icons to click pause or disable a printer, instead of finding where the option is now in a droplist. Clever :-( - -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. New feature or bug?
Do the icons show up when you use another browser or after cleaning the cache of your current browser and reloading the page? I had a problem with this after upgrading from CUPS 1.3.x to 1.4.x. If your problem ist still there: when you look at the source code of the page, which path is given in the <image ...> tags? BTW, please remove the DocumentRoot setting from cups' config again, as Johannes already suggested. The path must be already found, or you wouldn't see anything... No, I don't have that entry. Never had, just put it for a minute to try if it changed things. - -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. Oh... at least the new colour does not remind me of highly aged liver sausage. Or pea soup :-) And when it comes to manage 250+ printers, I am happy to see 100 per page and not 10. In future, there might be some usable status info on that page like the green/yellow/red light at the printer icon before, maybe that will be provided in one of the next versions. But since the development of nearly any software goes in the direction "hide any useful info from the user and show some non-informational crap instead", I have my doubts ;-) Just my 2c, Werner -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.16 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with SUSE - http://enigmail.mozdev.org/ iQEcBAEBAgAGBQJN8aqgAAoJEOfJ7bNoiiCNMLkIAKu2TfxRTQBPz00T4xjX34FJ DsXL/4XO0Duoe8qbMn3eyGOkCOEM1DPC+2FT9kszHqOhEOuKllnRsywof4RJDyvm LQhN2MhGiUf6S8dRO9SDTFKPZxB2eoU975TuPmDtzDmtyoaPPvfWWsq7K1w8cSr0 Vs1gxeSSNIJaRkoTe/QumFqywDPkVOQf3D/gIJ8HSjm69epDt9fEcbK8rhCtpU5N 8Hid41IdvWBGdUsWpmoeMFIEiPiXnd30nu32Rqp5YQ2SuyqjDGMNymv0xhlCx/4L n61VTa2xHXNhGau6ktmkwY0I2W5JdGPc9bCWegAAAF9o6EpqHYZceiTYlU3HTIY= =/W70 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Yes, that's right. What are you missing? The strange icons showing ancient laser printers you see in CUPS up to version 1.3.x?
If your problem ist still there: when you look at the source code of the page, which path is given in the <image ...> tags?
No tags.
To tags, no pictures. You see, CUPS was bought by Apple... That is the new look. I am fine to not see any icons. They had enough problems to get the printer search working, how long will it take to add icons? At least from 1.4.0 to 1.4.4 I had a dysfunctional search in CUPS... for printers, and for jobs as well. Even now I use Opera to operate the web interface since Firefox and CUPS do not harmonize too well (e. g., after changing the PPD file for a printer, a click on "Apply Changes" lets FF wait forever while Opera finishes in a second).
