I am having a problem with ftp to login from outside to my machine. Is there any options need to enable?. I am using SuSE7.2. It works o.k. when I use it form my machine.
Since "ftp localhost" works you have already configured START_INETD="yes" in /etc/rc.config and uncommented ftp stream tcp nowait root /usr/sbin/tcpd in.ftpd in /etc/inetd.conf. It should be enough therefore it seems you have set up some rules in /etc/hosts.deny that block access to this service. See "man 8 tcpd" and "man 5 hosts_access". -- Alexandr.Malusek@imv.liu.se
Hi Also if You are using SuSEfirewall, or personal-firewall, You need to adjust the rules so that one can connect from outside to Your box.. Jaska. Viestissä Sunnuntai 12. Elokuuta 2001 13:32, Alexandr Malusek kirjoitti:
