Spam stomping: Winning with RBL
Hi guys, good news ! After being tired of wanting to enlarge certain body parts, I put in RBL-checking AND Enhanced RBL checking with spamhaus and spamcop and it reduced the spam from +40/day to virtually ZERO! These guys rock! My MTA is sendmail, but I supoose the others have provision, too. HTH Regards Dan
Good afternoon I have just purchased and installed SuSe 8.1. I had been running 7.2, and had installed StarOffice 6.0, which performed very well. On first install of 8.2 - upgrade from the 7.2 - StarOffice still performed well, but other problems arose, so I decided to do a fresh and complete install. This time I wiped out Windows, which I haven't used in months. However, on reinstalling StarOffice, I found myself confronted with Very Ugly Fonts. (The machine is a desktop with an AMD processor on a K7S5A motherboard) A clean full install of 8.1 on my portable - a Toshiba Satellite - which it now shares with Windows Me worked very well, and StarOffice fonts are fine on that machine. I have looked in the Suse database and Googled, without coming up with anything that seems to help - in the database, the problem with the fonts is discussed for 7.2 & 7.3, but not for 8.1. Does anyone know how I can solve this problem? Best wishes Timothy Mason

It sounds like you need to install your fonts again. I use KDE and there is a font installer under System in the Control Center. Copy the fonts you want from your WinME installation to the SuSE box (I just keep mine in a folder in /home) and install them and StarOffice should be fine. Thank you for that - however, if you now run the script, you get a message saying that Microsoft has discontinued the fonts program I have been shifting the fonts over from Windows manually ; it doesn't seem to be making any difference to the screen BT5W, I forgot to mention that the documents print okay. Could the problem be something to do with the screen resolution, I wonder? Best wishes Timothy Mason
