I installed a 3ware ide raid card in my linux box today an then proceeded to install from scratch 7.3. after install it asks to reboot. on reboot I get message to point that there is no boot disk. anyone using one of this cards that can tell me what to do to boot from the harddisks attached to this card. thanks 3ware card is the 3W-6410. On install it detected the raid-1 array of 2 wd 20 gig drives an let me partion it the way i wanted to. 15m boot the 133 swap an the rest as /. thanks
You need to make sure that the card driver is in the initrd. Boot from the CD... then select boot installed system. Once it's up, edit rc.config and add 3w-xxxx.o (I think that is the driver) to the INITRD_MODULES= section. Change to /boot and mk_initd and lilo. - Herman Jack Malone wrote:
