[opensuse] Making Windows 10 play ball with grub?
Hello, I have installed OpenSUSE 15.1 on a laptop where Windows 10 is already installed the boot system is EFI. GRUB includes a Windows Boot Manager option. However, if I reboot from Windows, I just get Windows. To get Grub, I need to hold Shift when rebooting, then select "Use a device" and then "OpenSUSE". How can I make every reboot show Grub? -- Yours, Mikhail Ramendik Unless explicitly stated, all opinions in my mail are my own and do not reflect the views of any organization -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

If Leap was installed in UEFI mode (as it should have been, but might not have been): 1-Use UEFI BIOS setup to designate your choice of priority, or 2-While booted to openSUSE, use the efibootmgr command What does running efibootmgr show now? -- Evolution as taught in public schools is religion, not science. Thank you. This has helped. efibootmgr --bootorder was what I wanted. (I also wanted to make Windows the default in grub; yast - the text mode version, as I am having issues with the GUI as per my other thread, did that perfectly).

Basically you change the boot order in the UEFI (aka BIOS). But there are commands to do it from the operating system, as Felix shows. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 15.0 x86_64 at Telcontar)
