I installed 9.3 and am very happy with it. I am familiar wit the debian distributions and they use the debian package system, not RPM. I understand you can use apt-get on suse, is there a how-to on setting up apt-get and debian package system on suse?. One reason I want to use apt-get on suse is that I couldn't get kinternet to get on the internet wit dial-up. I used my debian system, libranet 3.0 to download pppconfig.deb and convert it to a .rpm package using alien and install it. I copied "pon" and "poff" from my libranet and installed them in /usr/bin. Ran pppconfig in suse 9.3 and now I can get on the internet I had this same problem on every suse version I tried to install. jozien

1. http://linux01.gwdg.de/apt4rpm/ and/or 2. Install the apt4rpm from the SUSE install DVD, documentation at http://linux01.gwdg.de/apt4rpm/ Rudolf

Or better yet install and get used to using "smart" package manager as it is replacing apt-get with 10.1 release. Also your time/date is wrong. You show it as being 12-27-2005 @ 8:30am and that you are in the mountain time zone in the USA (-0700). -- Ken Schneider UNIX since 1989, linux since 1994, SuSE since 1998
