Re: [SLE] installing eth0 under SuSE6.3 evaluation version
Graeme Robinson
I'm having trouble getting SuSE6.3 to install my pci ethernet controller. The card works fine under Windos and RedHat.
It is found by the system. Under System Information it appears as: Bus 0 , device 8, function 0: Ethernet controller: Realtek 8029(rev 0) (this is correct model) Medium devsel IRQ 5 I/O at something indecipherable
But not under ifconfig: ifconfig lo Link encap:Local Looback etc
ie not eth0!
Did you insert the module for the Realtek PCI controller? -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/

This should be the module called ne2k-PCI.o or something very similar. At least, my RTL8029 card is working smoothly with this module.
