Hi, could someone please send me the .gtkrc-kde (or any gnome1 config file) to enable font antialiasing? I'm using KDE, and when I run gnome1 apps (ymessenger), the font is not antialiased. TIA. -- -- Verdi March --

It is not that simple. You will need to: (1) Download, compile and install gdkxft located at http://gdkxft.sourceforge.net/ (2) Set and export the variable GDK_USE_XFT to 1, i.e.: export GDK_USE_XFT=1 in /etc/profile.local. (3) Please do not LD_PRELOAD libgdkxft.so globally in /etc/profile.local or else your GTK2 apps will not work. (4) Now for every GTK1 program you use, you will need to write a wrapper script and LD_PRELOAD libgdkxft, e.g.: export LD_PRELOAD=/usr/local/lib/libgdkxft.so before the command that starts the program.
