Kde is still a problem! I tried to install KDE 1.0 but yast continued to tell me this: Invalid: PREIN for /rpm/kbase.rpm error: /rpm/kbase.rpm cannot be installed Force replacement of files ... error: /rpm/kbase.rpm cannot be installed ... Mit Fehler I uninstalled KDE Beta 3, tried using rmp -i --force, rpm -U --force but nothing helps me getting KDE 1.0 Even KDE Beta 4 is not functioning. It installs without problems but when I try to start KDE from the login screen (the KWM-login-screen!!) it restarts only this login screen. Any other window managers are inaccessable, too. They are not even in the select box at the login-screen. Only fvwm is there but it's the same like KDE. I can use failsafe but there I do only get a terminal and the startkde or kwm commands aren't functioning. Qt 1.33 is installed. If it helps, it's from the c't free and share- ware CD '98, CD 2. In the filename there is RH5. Does this mean Red Hat? Could this be the source of problems? I don't know. KDE Beta 3 is functioning without any problem. (Exept typical Beta problems...) Would be glad if there is some response! thanx thanks to john bitar for his try. - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e
Hi, Someone correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't KDE 1.0 need QT 1.40 and not QT 1.33? I heard this somewhere, but I could be wrong! :-) Tom. -------------------------------------- root@twatts.demon.co.uk --------------------------------------

Don't think so. I'm running KDE 1.0 with QT 1.33 here. I installed the RPM's, from ftp.suse.com I think. As someone else mentioned, the order of installation is important. -- Bud Rogers <budr@sirinet.net> formerly <budr@tanet.net> - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e
