RE: [SLE] failed services in runlevel 0= at
Fraser I had run out of space, I have now deleted temp files and log messages and it has fixed the fault - thanks. I am not sure but, I think the Cron setting in config needs setting to a lower figure than 365 if space is tight, therefore deleting files over a shorter period of time to prevent this happenning. Cheers Rich -----Original Message----- From: Fraser Hanson [mailto:r1r2@ugrad.cs.ubc.ca] The solution was to free up some space. I cleared out all the .tar and .gz files and other large files I'd stored in my /root directory, which freed up about 45Mb. I also cleared out my /tmp directory, which had files that dated back to the day I installed Linux. I don't understand why these weren't cleared out automatically by the cron daemon at night, and I haven't had time to figure it out since. The command df is useful for diagnosing this particular problem. It shows you a list of your filesystems, and tells you how full they are.
