Here's another tidbit to toss into the Nvidia pot. Seems that I'm running Win4Lin in fullscreen mode, which uses server #1 (by default, X uses server #0). If I shut down Win4Lin, a Windows terminal, using the Windows shutdown procedure, and then shut down kdm, I see the shutdown messages that I don't see under other circumstances. I don't expect this observation to solve any problems, but it's interesting. Paul
