[opensuse] [11.4 RC1 64bit]-Very buggy?
Hi, I installed OpenSUSE 11.4 Release Candidate 1 64bit (Gnome Desktop version) into VirtualBox under Ubuntu 10.10 64bit. Seems like there are many problems with this RC. - Many of the icons in the menu are missing. - The Gnome panel loses its icons after rebooting. (changing theme seems to fix this issue temporarily) - Running Add/Remove Software disappears when updating. Anyone else having this issues? Guess I'll wait until RC2 is released. This is a question best asked on the Factory mailing list. Check here for the known annoying bugs http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Most_annoying_bugs_11.4_dev And... I'm running the Gnome 11.4RC1 on VirtualBox at the office, and on a netbook laptop at home with no problems outside the known bugs/annoyances - ie I haven't yet see any of the issues you've noted here. Ummm.. I should learn to re-read the messages before I click send :-P The Gnome panel thing is probably related to a Compiz bug that has been fixed. The missing icons... do you mean in the Application Browser view? The disappearing Add/Remove Software - are you familiar with openSUSE and the add software tool? (I ask because you say you're running on Ubuntu 10.10 as your Host). The default behavior of the Software tool is to exit after installing software. You can change this behavior by opening YaST and selecting System > /etc/sysconfig Editor. In the editor, select System > Yast2 > GUI > PKGMGR_ACTION_AT_EXIT and set it to restart or summary (depending on your own preferences). C. Hi,
I installed the 11.4 RC1 64bit DVD natively. Many of the icons are missing: http://16bitsoft.com/images/openSUSE11_4RC/openSUSE11_4RC1-64bit-MissingIcon... Anyone else seeing this problem?
