[opensuse] Shutting down issue with openSUSE v11.2
I installed openSUSE 2 days ago and everything went well. Except that when I try shutting down my machine, it starts the shutdown process, but it gets stuck when "shutting down (localfs) network interfaces: eth0" I tried shutting down from the terminal using "init 0" but it still gets stuck there and it doesn't go beyond this point. Any ideas? Anything I can try? Attached is a pic I took of the point where the shutting down process gets stuck. Thanks, N. Orlando

Hello Orlando I had this same problem some months ago,on a laptop, after installing OS 11.2. It disappeared after an update. But I could not say which one it was. Are you using 11.2 ? and on what sort of machine ? Did you do any updates ? It not, try it and keep us informed Maybe some more knowledgeable people have a better solution and an intelligent explanation. I'll try doing the updates today. I'm running OpenSUSE v.11.2 on a
Dell Dimension 2400 desktop.

Indeed. Same here. My laptop too. Then it came back. Some days. But not others. -- "If I must write the truth, I am disposed to avoid every assembly of bishops; for of no synod have I seen a profitable end, but rather an addition to than a diminution of evils; for the love of strife and the thirst for superiority are beyond the power of words to express." -- Father Gregory Nazianzen, 381 AD -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I have problems hibernating the machine if there are mounted external filesystems via nfs. I'm not sure if I have those problems when halting.
