A while back there was a post that mentioned this list's FAQ. However, no link was provided to it. Just for jollies, I went looking for it tonight, and I could find no mention of it along with the list of lists on the suse.com site. Where else would a sane person look for it? -- Rick Green "I have the heart of a little child, and the brain of a genius. ... and I keep them in a jar under my bed"
Sorry for being anal-retentive about such things, but this mistake
is made ALL the time. It should be written, "wherefore art thou...", and
"wherefore" means "why" or "for which", not "where" (compare "whereby",
which does not mean "where" either, but "by which"): "Wherefore art
thou Romeo?" The point, as the part about a rose by any other
name makes clear, is that Juliet is asking why Romeo is named Romeo
Montagu, and why something that seems so adventitious should keep them
apart. Recall that the families are sworn enemies.
O Romeo, Romeo! wherefore art thou Romeo?
Deny thy father and refuse thy name;
Or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love,
And I'll no longer be a Capulet.
If "wherefore" meant "where", there would be a comma after "thou".
Curmudgeonly,

Curmudgeonly,
Thank you! I stand corrected. I see beauty in the precise use of language, and you have elevated my understanding. ...and I'm still looking for the FAQ. -- Rick Green "I have the heart of a little child, and the brain of a genius. ... and I keep them in a jar under my bed"
No problem... thank *you* for being so gracious, despite my
unmannerliness.
I have no idea where the FAQ is, but perhaps it is the same as the FAQ
at the SuSE SDB site? I recall seing a link to a FAQ there.

Hi, sorry, I didn't even look at the footer, but you can use the URL
there to go to the FAQ:

http://www.suse.com/us/support/faq/ I've looked at that FAQ, and it doesn't say anything about Fred's appointment as our 'Official Reporter', so I assumed it was the generic SuSE support FAQ, and not the suse-linux-e list FAQ. I haven't been on the list more than a few months, so I wanted to read some of the history of the list.
