Hi, Since OpenSuSE 10.1, I noticed that Kweather don't work properly. I am able to install it (package Kdetoy I think), and launch the applet in the tray. However, when i select a weather station (anywhere in the world, USA, France....), Kweather say that the station is off. On OpenSuSE 10.0, the same station works and Kweather reports the weather nicely. It is not a big problem obviously, but still, the problem persists in OpenSUSE 10.2 and I don't understand what's wrong. What is odd, is that kweather seems to be able to fetch informations because when I am in the menu where you configure the stations - and I do a refresh - the icons associated with the stations change to display the weather (sunny, cloudy...). Is anyone have any idea ? Thank you. In Kweather configuration, left sidebar, select "Display". Drop down Location box within Weather Station Options and select your choice. Apply. HTH, -- Jim Barnes -- Certainly the game is rigged. I have the same problem as the OP here. And the dropdown box has only one choice "Unknown Station". Since that's all I can choose, I choose it, and weather reports indicate the station (San Francisco) is offline. Like the OP, it has been this way since 10.1 or 10.0. Try adding another (random) station to Selected Stations. I had deleted "Unknown Station" initially, and my choice didn't show until I added another. -- Jim Barnes -- Certainly the game is rigged. That didn't work for me. I had chosen San Francisco and Guadalajara Mexico. Still didn't allow me to select anything from the dropdown box. After editing the file manually as previously mentioned, it works. Unfortunately, it's all in metric, and I don't see any way to change it even inside the config files. So, I've abandoned it again and am using a combination of the weather plugin in Firefox and the weather plugin in gkrellm. Both work fine, unlike Kweather. That worked, thanks. Michael -- If a kid asks where rain comes from, I think a cute thing to tell him is "God is crying." I removed Kweather from the panel, then edited .kde/share/config/weather_panelappletrc manually. I changed the station from 0000 to KSFO and re-added Kweather to the bar. Now it works. Hello everybody, I'm trying to set an afs client on my machine (I need it for my work!). I tried to compile openafs 1.4.2 or even 1.5.12 but I always get a compilation error: /home/cerminar/io/installazione/openafs-1.4.0/src/afs/LINUX/osi_machdep.h:55:2: error: #error Not sure what to do about rlim (should be in the Linux task struct somewhere....) Do you know what's going on here? Please help, thanks in advance Gianluca PS: do you know why the openafs-client rpm is not anymore in the release? Is it possible to find it? This will prevent many professional users to use openSUSE...it's really a pity -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
Looks like this is bug 103887, and was just fixed very recently (2006-12-24) by Martin Koller. Michael -- If a kid asks where rain comes from, I think a cute thing to tell him is "God is crying." Many thanks to all of you for the feedback. I looked at the OpenSUSE 10.1 system I had installed for a friend here at work, and Kweather do works now (I did not look for a long time, sorry). I need to go back home to try on OpenSUSE 10.2, but yesterday I could'nt make it work. I will try all your suggestions, and will let you know tomorrow if it works (and more importantly how !). Hi, I finally managed to get Kweather to work on OpenSUSE 10.2, thanks to all of you. On the desktop, (OpenSUSE 10.2, x86_64), I edited the file ~/.kde/share/config/KWeatherServicerc and deleted the stations. Then I went back on the Kweather GUI and selected 2 stations. After a restart of Kweather, it worked. On a laptop (OpenSUSE 10.2, i386), in the Kweather GUI, I deselected all stations, then selected 2 stations, then restarted Kweather and it worked. So, messing around with the file "~/.kde/share/config/KWeatherServicerc" is probably not necessary. So, now it is working. However, Kweather needs to be restarted to take the newly added stations into account. Moreover, as Jim Barnes said, I had to add 2 stations to make it work (and to make the 1st one to show up in the dropdown box). Thank you again for your help.
