[opensuse] I cannot listen to any sound!
After rebooting and doing anything at all, sound does not work. It seems that pulseaudio is the new "engine" for alsa, and I do not know how to turn volume on. Test in yast2 doesn't work anymore. All multimedia apps turns on but with no sound. How can I have sound like always in linux? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

You might want to join us in "Re: [opensuse] 11.0 Sound Problem".We're discussing no sound. Don Henson

Hahahahahahahahahahaha... Yes, I'm doing this! The actual matter is that sound is working now, but I see pulseaudio running in process list, and I have said I do not want pulseaudio. I just want yauap o gstreamer. Bye, Hudibras.

You're ahead of me. I can't get any sound anywhere. I think I'll follow this thread for awhile. Don Henson

Please, tell me if you did an update or a new installation. If the former it's possible to solve it doing a reinstallation from zero. It's a piece of advice... Unfortunately I cannot help you. I wish I could! Regards, Hudibras.

Have you tried running alsaconfig ? (as root) Certainly can't hurt. Bob S -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Yes! The same result. Although sound works now, pulseaudio process are still running.
(as root) Certainly can't hurt.
Thank you! Cheers, Hudibras.

Is pulseaudio actually running? I had trouble with the 11.0rc1 which was "solved" by running the /etc/init.d/pulseaudio starter code. I also had low volume after that. ==John ffitch -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Yes. And it's this what I don't want. Pulseaudio is new for me and I do not know how to manage it. I was very happy with my amarok running yauap parser or any mpd client.

This script does not exist in my linux box.

Volume has been really a mess this morning when I execute volume manager and I saw a new window called "Pulseaudio". Thanks, AOP, aka Hudibras.
