Hi all,
I am considering a new colour laser network printer for my shop. It is used for office colour printing and graphics, but not photos and proofs. I have openSUSE 11.4/21.1, Mac OSX 10.6.8 SL/10.7.2 Lion and Windows XP/7. I have an Epson at the moment, but they are bad software, driver and open-source supporters for Linux and Mac.
I need some tips of experiences in a heterogeneous network with colour laser network printers (Wi-Fi?). Which manufacturers are good supporters, which are bad? Support in order of importance should be for firstly the Mac OSX-Lion, then openSUSE 11.4/21.1and lastly Windows XP/7.
Wading through the openSUSE HCL is a possible but daunting task. I'm not aware of a printer HCL for the Macs. It can be assumed that all have drivers for WinXP/7.
I'll be thankful for any suggestions and experience reports.

I've had to deal with smal-ish workgroup printers from HP (2605-DN...) and Kyocera (FS C5025N) printers so far and both worked flawlessly with cups and windows xp. I've also had to deal with an A3 scanner/copier/printer combo from Sharp, but that cost several thousand bucks. It had some issues with postscript files, but in general it worked too. I liked the Kyocera printer a lot. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
