[opensuse] Netcard stops working after 1 minute
I wonder if there is a solution for this problem out there. The network card works flawlessly for a minute or so, and then it stops. Full explanation: The netcard sits in a very old computer, acting as a firewall, and works with no problems. But I want to change this old computer to a newer one for several reasons. This card is the external one, facing the internet provider's router. In the new computer it will get the same DHCP info as in the old (same IP, netmask, routing, etc) and I can ping the provider's router for about 30 seconds before the connections doesn't work anymore. If I look at ifconfig and route -n, the connections is intact, but it seems as the cable is out. I suspect the driver is dying, but all attempts to try another IRQ, try to boot with failsafe etc is to no avail. The card is a noname DEC Tulip compatible. -- Med venlig hilsen Kaare Rasmussen, Jasonic Jasonic Telefon: +45 3816 2582 Nordre Fasanvej 12 2000 Frederiksberg Email: kaare@jasonic.dk -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Seems the problem was that both the 'tulip' and the 'dmfe' module was loaded. I removed tulip, and the problem went away. -- Med venlig hilsen Kaare Rasmussen, Jasonic Jasonic Telefon: +45 3816 2582 Nordre Fasanvej 12 2000 Frederiksberg Email: kaare@jasonic.dk -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
