[opensuse] Too much slow internet connection in my laptop - openSUSE KDE 13.1
Hi, I am using openSUSE 13.1 KDE version. I am always getting the slow internet connection. I am using http://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B00HQABD4Y/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_dp_ss_2?pf_rd_p=459400587&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B00ITQ0UKC&pf_rd_m=A1VBAL9TL5WCBF&pf_rd_r=07N5DWARNZQWENVVMYG8 Now I also applied the solutions given here - http://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/480561-OpenSuse-12-2-Slow-Internet... Nothing? But you posted here.... How about telling us your configuration, whether you are using NetworkManager, your dhcp client settings and more. Please don't expect us to give meaningful advice (other than "Go Google", which it seems you already have) in an information vacuum. "slow" meaning what? Latency or bandwidth? Have you tried pinging your router, your ISP, local sites in India, more disant sites? -- /"\ \ / ASCII Ribbon Campaign X Against HTML Mail / \ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Very good question indeed. :-) I posted here using my friend's laptop and internet connection. Yes, mine is not working. *nothing* means, not being able to open a webpage, none of the emails are being loaded in Kmail. Only it is showing Mobile Broadband is connected, speed is 2-3 kbps. This is happening since last 3 days. The same data card if I use in my friend's laptop, it is working. -- ================ Regards, Arup Rakshit ================ Debugging is twice as hard as writing the code in the first place. Interesting to know but not of any help in solving you preoblem. As I said, How about telling us your configuration, whether you are using NetworkManager, your dhcp client settings and more. Yes, I am using NetworkManager.
your dhcp client settings
I followed the instruction as mentioned in the link - http://www.wikihow.com/Set-up-Mobile-Broadband-in-Ubuntu. Regarding step - 10 , all are checked, except *MPPE* and *send PPP echo packets*.
and more. Please don't expect us to give meaningful advice (other than "Go Google", which it seems you already have) in an information vacuum.
I understand your point. But I am not well to understand such OS related stuffs well. I checked with the ISP about it, they confirmed that 3G connection status is active in my SIM card. May be my hardware/software issue. But all I can say you, all worked well, suddenly it stopped since last 3 days. Is there any chance other hacked my internet connection from outside, thus I am getting lowest speed. My guess, I don't if it can be done or not, while I am using a data card, not any router for now. -- ================ Regards, Arup Rakshit ================ Debugging is twice as hard as writing the code in the first place. Try googling for diagnosing network problems linux As I said in another post: Have you tried pinging your router, your ISP, local sites in India, more disant sites? Unless we have some idea of your configuration, settings (again, go google or RTFM) we can't help you. There's a nice graphic and walk-though at http://www.tuxradar.com/content/diagnose-and-fix-network-problems-yourself#n... which is much more meaningful. Why don't you walk though that and try the example commands and report back to us where that gets you. This http://www.linuxhomenetworking.com/wiki/index.php/Quick_HOWTO_:_Ch04_:_Simpl... is much more comprehensive and will also teach you more about networking, but its a "don't start here" item. Again, more stuff here http://www.tecmint.com/linux-network-configuration-and-troubleshooting-comma... but it assumes you have some knowledge of the basics of networking. Its up to you to take the initiative to learn that. We can't solve any of your problems if you don't know what we're talking about and are unable to answer our questions. Work through the examples at that first URL, guided by the graphic, and tell us the results. That's a very significant start. -- /"\ \ / ASCII Ribbon Campaign X Against HTML Mail / \ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Maybe some more here: https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/391535-My-wireless-doesn-t-work-a... https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/410319-Getting-Your-Wireless-to-W... They are links mostly about WiFi, but... -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 13.1 x86_64 "Bottle" at Telcontar)

Do you have any transfer limits? My GSM provider allows me about 1GB of transfer before the speed goes down to the lowest possible. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
