Mismatched Kernel/Modules directory

I rolled my own SMP kernel with modules, and the modules installed to /lib/modules/2.4.0-SMP When I do a depmod -a, I get the following error: depmod: Can't open /lib/modules/2.4.0/modules.dep for writing (Notice the distinct lack of an "-SMP" suffix on the 2.4.0 in that error message...) Anyone know what's going wrong? Was there a bug in the SuSE 2.4.0 kernel? Do I just need to download a later version of the kernel source from SuSE and if so, where does it reside? (There are more details about what I did during the compile in the unanswered thread: [SLE] 7.2 Kernel compile SMP, modules dir doesnt' match) Argentium
