[opensuse] Android hotspot

Hi, I just unsuccessfully tried to connect to my cell-phone via wifi. Did anyone succeed in doing this ? I configured my phone to be a hotspot, wpa2 with a pass-phrase. I see the ssid but when I tried to connect to it with two laptops, one OS 12.3, one with OS 12.2, I could not connect. Is there anything special to configure on Opensuse ? I do that all the time and it works reliably. Try without a password first, to make sure you have an connection. Then enable WPA2 and make sure the passwords are correct. I use it right now, works fine, no problem. :-) Just enable wifi hotspod in Android and connect in openSUSE as to ordinary wifi. But from my observations, USB tethering seems to be faster and not using so much of phone`s performance. Again it works easily. Good luck! Used it while admitted into the hospital a few months ago.. worked just fine ..even with needles and tubes attached to your body :-P There is probably something wrong in the phone-side. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Hi, Yes those computers work OK with wifi. But I tried USB-tethering and that works fine. I will be using that. But I will try again with wifi though. Thanks for all replies.
