[SLE] Linux / Apache setting problme.
Hi everyone, I believe my problem is a very small one, because I am new to Linux, so I don't know where to change the setting. My SuSE 6.4 Linux has Apache running, and I just changed the IP address for my Linux box using YaST, after that I no longer can use loalhost to access my local website. But if I use the machine IP it will be ok. Could anyone help me on this, Thanks Stephen <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HEAD> <META http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=big5"> <META content="MSHTML 5.50.4134.600" name=GENERATOR> <STYLE></STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY bgColor=#ffffff> <DIV><FONT face=Courier>Hi everyone,</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=Courier></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=Courier>I believe my problem is a very small one,</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=Courier>because I am new to Linux, so I don't know</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=Courier>where to change the setting.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=Courier></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=Courier>My SuSE 6.4 Linux has Apache running, and </FONT><FONT face=Courier>I just</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=Courier>changed </FONT><FONT face=Courier>the IP address for my Linux box using YaST,</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=Courier>after </FONT><FONT face=Courier>that </FONT><FONT face=Courier>I no </FONT><FONT face=Courier>longer </FONT><FONT face=Courier>can use loalhost to access</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=Courier>my </FONT><FONT face=Courier>local website. Michael This indicates a problem with your DNS / hosts Look in your /etc/hosts and ensure your localhost is pointing to the correct ip. If that looks ok , check your DNS. hth Chris --Original Message Text--- From: Stephen Kao Date: Sun, 15 Oct 2000 11:57:54 +1300 Hi everyone, I believe my problem is a very small one, because I am new to Linux, so I don't know where to change the setting. Make sure your /etc/hosts file looks like this: 127.0.0.1 localhost 192.168.0.1 yourdomain.com or what ever you assigned to your network card. -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq
