Hi all, Did some experience on nfs and have a problem mounting a file system. I don't want to copy data twice. So here is my problem : On machine A I made a directory /nfs-A. Then I make some symlinks in that directory say : ln -s /etc /nfs-A/etc ; ln -s /home /nfs-A/home; ln -s /download /nfs-A/download. /home and /download are situated on a different partitions than / (sdd2). Now exporting /nfs-A ok. On machine B I made a directory /nfs-A. I do mount -t nfs A:/nfs-A /nfs-A (so I'm seeing when I browse that it is the nfs of machine A ). I can see and browse /etc and /home but I cannot browse /download. I see an icon like a file-icon with a lock on it. ( in A /download has 0777permissions and is less restrictive than /home) My question is why cann't I browse /download ? Here is my A-fstab : /dev/sdd2 / reiserfs defaults 1 1 /dev/sdd1 /boot ext2 defaults 1 2 /dev/sdd5 /usr reiserfs defaults 1 2 /dev/sdd6 /var reiserfs defaults 1 2 /dev/sdd8 /opt reiserfs defaults 1 2 /dev/sdd9 /tmp reiserfs defaults 1 2 /dev/sdd10 /home reiserfs defaults 1 2 /dev/sdd11 /download reiserfs defaults 1 2 My /etc/exports just contains /nfs-A Any help appreciated. TIA Filip.
