[SuSE Linux] WP8 Questions
Hi All, I've got WP8 d/l'ed and up and running. BUTTTTT, I've two big questions. #1 When I open a file WP gives me the "Convert File" window. Which file type is for "PDF" files? It's not very clear. #2 How do you turn off the auto spell checker and grammer checker? On my little 486/33 waiting for WP to underline in red and blue all this stuff really slows me down. Also I've a txt file in middle English that almost give WP a breakdown, whole pages blued or red. :) Overall I've got to give WP8 an "A". It's great to have it on Linux. I've been using WP now for over 12 years and it's still the best. In fact my wife will not upgrade. She demands that I keep WP 4.2 on the computer. One last thing, does anyone know where to send an email to give Coral suggestions? I've find things that I would like to have on it etc. TIA! Hi Jim- Im curious since I ordered the version from linuxmall. What are your overall impressions about wp8? Can you comment on import/export filters and its overall abilities to handle imbedded things like spreadsheets? I used wp 5.1 for dos (shift-F7, etc) to do a lot of scientific and analytical papers in another lifetime. I like wp and am quite interested in it from several perspectives. I use applix here now because of its links to adabas D datasources. and the ease of setting this up. Thanks. -- Michael E. There seem to be no filters for pdf files, but you can use pdf2ps and ps2epsi to convert your pdf to encapsulated postscript which can be opened with WP 8.
