I have two flash drives. My old 64MB 1.1 flash drive works perfectly. My 256MB 2.0 Apacer Handy Steno doesn't work. When I plug this flash drive in, hotplugger creates multiple mounts for the drive instead of just one, none of the mounts actually work. The Apacer causes the same problems with Mandrake and SuSE, with both 2.4 and 2.6 kernels on multiple machines. According to the Apacer web site the Handy Steno should work with Linux. Anybody know what's going on here? If all else fails I'll buy another flash drive and keep the Apacer for use with Windows. Can anybody recommend a 256/USB 2.0 flash drive that does work with Linux? Steve
I have also both Flash Drivers, USB 1.1 and Apacer Handy Steno 2.0, both work nice. I had initial problem with Apacer when I first use it. The problem was solved after format the drive with application that come on the Apacer CD. But the the application run only on windows. Thadeu On Tuesday 01 June 2004 20:14, Steve Reynolds wrote:

the same problem that you mention below. To make a long story short, the SanDisk Cruzer 256MB works. tom

Now I had huge problems with the SanDisk Cruzer 256MB.............it worked fine in Windows, but never worked very well in Linux......(SuSE 9.1 Pro and Fedora Core 2). I bought a Lexar JumpDrive 128MB for $39.95 from Target and it works great with SuSE 9.1. -- Brian Craft Yahoo Instant Messenger ID: bcraft67 AIM: linuxman67 Website: http://userdata.acd.net/javaman67/ Linux Counter id: 97873 Linux......the OS of Choice!
