as we all know bind logs events in its own log file under/var/log (when configured so) my question is that when it logs client queries, instead of having the logfile filled with only client ip addresses and what sort of queries they have performed, is there a way for bind to do a reverse lookup on the connecting clients and log the matching name instead of only the IP address?

It's probably better to do some post-processing for that - it'd be rather a bad idea to make your DNS server do a new lookup for every lookup it received, IMHO. :) --Danny, not really answering the question
