[opensuse] email weirdness
I just received a mail delivery failure notice. It was to rschweikert@suse.com which is not somebody I ever remembering addressing an email to, but is somebody who I have seen on this email list in the past. What I found a bit concerning is that the notice included many statements like: Received: from INET-RELAY2-MTA by relay2.provo.novell.com with Novell_GroupWise Received: from M9W0068.microfocus.com (m9w0068.houston.softwaregrp.net I thought SUSE was now independent? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I don't know. That page takes me to a link that requests me to login that FF does not know about and that still says Novell is responsible. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

That's not the point. (and sorry, I haven't seen any announcement). (1) Why am I getting a rejected delivery to rschweikert@suse.com ? (2) Why does anything I receive mention Microfocus or Novell except to say explicitly that they are a service provider? Especially given how many firms use people like cloudflare without it appearing anywhere? (3) What credentials is the page asking me for? And why are they different to what my FF has been exposed to previously? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

(1) Why am I getting a rejected delivery to rschweikert@suse.com ?
Robert Schweikert may have been involved in a thread ......

They have been for ages, why this question now?

I haven't noticed such before, that's why now. Are you claiming that I've seen such events before and not noticed (entirely possible, but not true so far as I know)
(3) What credentials is the page asking me for? And why are they different to what my FF has been exposed to previously?
FF ( when used on 'closed' openSUSE sites has been exposed to them previously.

(1) Why am I getting a rejected delivery to rschweikert@suse.com ?
1) He is a subscriber to this mail list (I guess). 2) You sent a post to this list (I guess). 3) Your mail, when delivered to you, bounces. 4) You are notified of the bounce by his mail provider, that happens to be Novell Groupwise. Nothing extraordinary or strange in any of that :-)
(2) Why does anything I receive mention Microfocus or Novell except to say explicitly that they are a service provider? I assume the same credentials as used for anything opensuse. The same as for bugzilla. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 15.0 x86_64 at Telcontar)

What I found a bit concerning is that the notice included many statements like:
Received: from INET-RELAY2-MTA by relay2.provo.novell.com with Novell_GroupWise
Received: from M9W0068.microfocus.com (m9w0068.houston.softwaregrp.net
I thought SUSE was now independent? FWIW, I suddenly start receiving these as well.......

Yes, we all are. All that post here, of course. The ticket has been assigned to Per, but he is on vacation and will be for a week, likely (to unsubscribe the chap). If somebody has a phone for rschweikert, he could phone and tell him of the issue... or tell the admin of the Novell Groupwise server. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R.
