Fred, I wonder if what AT&T is looking at is the code that they had stolen from FreeBSD back in the eighties. Could it be that that particular "stolen" code that SCO is crying, is actually from FreeBSD? If so, I wonder what that would do to their case, and how long would they last now that they have made SO many enemies? <BWEG> P.S. Sorry about that, Fred, I did not mean to post directly to you.

GETTIN' MY MOJO BACK
By Robert X. Cringely(R)

In all the commotion lately, I somehow forgot to book a plane ticket to Anchorage, Alaska, for the marathon next week. So, the small fortune I spent for last-minute airfare is simply adding to my nervousness about the race. Oh well, I guess I can't back down now.
Now That's the Ticket
Speaking of expensive tickets, one of my moles reported that Team Redmond might be looking to buy Accenture, the $11 billion consulting company. Apparently, Microsoft and Accenture have been engaged in some intense talks, with folks frequently flying back and forth between Redmond and New York, particularly during March and April. Even big bad Ballmer was spotted walking through Accenture headquarters recently in The Big Apple.
These companies would make good bedfellows - what with Accenture building and selling .Net tools and all. A deal like this would certainly boost Microsoft's quietly growing services unit. But given the software giant's vows not to compete with its army of partners in the services realm, such a deal is bound to create turmoil. Hmm. Even with my financial straits, I don't think I'd apply to Accenture for employment as a consultant anytime soon. AT&T Eyeing SCO
Without even knowing it, SCO may have started a war of attrition with much larger enemies that have deeper pockets. Within the halls at AT&T, folks were chattering just last week that AT&T still has reserved rights on Unix. Naturally, the company is paying close attention to the various legal claims that SCO is making and may join the battle soon. My spy said the word around AT&T is that this will all be resolved shortly. But one has to wonder how long SCO could survive if it had opponents in multiple courtrooms - those being, of course, IBM and AT&T.
My friend Reilly commented the other day that I appear to be getting my mojo back. I hope he's right, because I am going to need it for this race. I just wish Apache could run with me.

Yes...I know. Sometimes I forget to cc the list. This is the only list I'm on that is setup this way. The 1 thing that keeps "popping up" in my mind, is why is SCO so steadfast insistant that they can "prove" the code theft, if they really don't have the evidence? They're now gone beyond the "point of no return," and must pursue a trial. Yet, IBM basically says, " So what? You can pull out ticket. Go soak your sorry heads in a bucket." Anders makes a good point, and for once I'd LIKE to disagree with him, but can't. IBM has some "dirty dealings" in their closet as well. They aren't Mr. Clean. The bottom line is, we just don't know who's telling the truth. Fred -- Planet Earth - a subsidiary of Microsoft®. You're using kmail which has the ability to handle mailing lists properly, there's no need to ever Cc the list or remember to do anything special. I believe it's 'L' for list reply but someone will correct me if I'm wrong. -- -ckm

"Shzam!" Thanks......I'd used that before, if I'd found it. Yeah, I know...it was there all along. :) Fred -- Planet Earth - a subsidiary of Microsoft®. This is true, but it is not in the menu when you right-click the message. Perhaps this should be reported as a bug. Basil Fowler On Monday 16 June 2003 22:49, Christopher Mahmood wrote:

If you use procmail, a rule like the following will change that: # Add a Reply-To to this mail list, and move to the correct file. :0f * ^X-Mailinglist: suse-linux-e | /usr/bin/formail -bfi "Reply-To:suse-linux-e@suse.com" :0 a: $HOME/Mail/lists/suse-linux-e -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson
