Do you have an /etc/modules.conf, or do you just have /etc/modules.conf.- ? If you don't have /etc/modules.conf, then I would copy the modules.conf.- file to modules.conf if I were you. It can't do any harm. That should clear up most of the module errors and it might stop YaST crashing (of course, YaST may be the one removing modules.conf in the first place). If YaST still doesn't work, then you should be able to edit /etc/rc.config manually to add the appropriate entries for your network card. Hi, Had the same errors during install. Due to a certain partition sheme, this error occurs. Read : http://sdb.suse.de/sdb/en/html/y2_no_modulesconf.html So you must upgrade yast1/2 and the problems will disappear. Filip. Le Dimanche 8 Avril 2001 17:20, James Salisbury a écrit :

Yes, it crashes for me, too!

A work-a-round: When the msg about the 'error' appears, DON'T click on the "Ok" button of the msg dialog. Instead, click on the "LAN" option in the menu tree of the left panel again and answer 'Forget" when asked if you want to keep the bad ethernet configuration. There are several instances when using the 'back' button closes (crashes?) yast2 instead of returning to the menu tree.

Check modules.conf and see if it contains your changes, then check modules.conf~ and see if it was the old conf file.

depmod -a ???
any clues?
