I just did a fresh install of Suse 10.0 beta 2 on this computer. Every time I go to save a file, firefox crashes and I have to start it up again. I do not have this problem on my Averatec laptop but I just upgraded Suse 9.3 to 10.0 on the laptop. any suggestions as to how to prevent it from crashing? Walt

Hi Walt, It's a little premature to be asking for help on 10.0 right now. "Beta" means pre-release. It's actively being tested for bugs by the community. If you've found a bug, start by visiting www.opensuse.org and clicking on the "Submit a bug" link. Be sure to read the FAQ and info on how to report a bug. You can also try searching the bug reporting & management system "Bugzilla" for reports from other people about the same problem. You might even find a solution there, if you're lucky. But if you're the first, gather as much info as you can from your logs and .xsession-errors file and submit a bug report yourself. That's how these things get hammered out; people like you and I volunteering a little time and contributing to the process. - Carl

There are several report about random crashing of Firefox, Thunderbird and Sunbird. Please note that all of them have the same codebase and the crashers are most likely all because of the same problem. I think we have found at least two reasons for various crashes and fixed them for beta3. I can't provide an update to this version without the base system updated to beta3. So you have to wait until beta3 is out and test then again. If you encounter a crash and you are using GNOME you should try to switch to another theme (the default one) because one of the reason for the crashes is the industrial theme.
