Two Linux Pcs are running on small LAN. A CUPS server is installed on PC1 and CUPS client on PC2. The server appears to be correctly configured. Using the web server configuration tool, the printer is shown as running. A test page prints cleanly. An extract of the web page is : /************************************************* HP LaserJet 6P, Foomatic + ljet4 Description: Laserjet 6p in Computer Room Location: 192.168.1.1 Printer State: idle, accepting jobs. Device URI: parallel:/dev/lp0 /************************************************** On PC2 running client only, Yast 2 was used to setup a printer. The CUPS screen comes up. The parameters entered are : Server Name : 192.168.1.1. Pressing "Test remote IPP access" returns "Printer server is accessible". After this, the "Finish" button was pressed. A dialog box confirms the new configuration was stored successfully. However, an attempt to print from any application displays a message "An error occurred while retrieving the printer list. The IPP request failed for an unknown reason. Can anyone assist?
