I didn't ask about /etc/curlrc, I asked about /root/.curlrc (since when running zyper for updates, curl is run as root (therefore it reads its configuration file from /root/ which is different to / - the "root" directory).

Also, note that there is a period . in front of curlrc (so it is .curlrc in /root/).
