Clock setting applications?
Is there a Linux program that calls up a source for accurate time, returns the correct time for your time zone and adjusts the computer clock to that time? Thanks dj tuchler

From memory,
ntpdate <ntp-server> Sets the system clock to an NTP server clock, followed by hwclock --systohc Sets the computer hardware clock from the system clock. Hi :) ~ this gets time from a Dutch clock :- ntpdate -su -t 60 server ntp0.nl.net /sbin/clock -wu ............................... . . . then, to set it to ones hardware clock in UTC :- ____________________ exec /sbin/hwclock --utc --systohc ........................................... You can obtain a list of public ntp servers from:
http://www.eecis.udel.edu/~ntp/
You should problably use a stratum 2 server (in most cases for users on this list
that would be appropriate). Please follow the rules on that site as well as the
published rules for the ntp server(s) you decide to use. This is a free service
which they are providing and would be unfair to everyone if one person abuses it
and hurts everyone.
