Need Help with my Hauppauge Wintv Card. I am running Suse 64. Matrox Millenium G400 32M Ram, 256M Ram, MetroX, and Video mode is 1280x1024 on 21" Display. The Hauppauge supports from 640x480 to 1280x1024 16m Colors. I know this be cause I run it on the other OS I run the least amount of time (NT4.0). It is the Hauppauge Model 400 WinTV-radio with dbx-TV stereo, FM Radio & Remote PCI. Neither the Radio or TV will work under linux. Although with xawtv I have been able to see the sync channel/. (top of picture). Any Ideas. Oh I am running either WindowMaker or KDE.. I am using the Win TV radio PCI 647 model which is equivalent to model 401 everything except the remote control is functioning (since I did not bother with it) under KDE using kwintv and nothing special is done it works out of box under Suse. Here is what I have in the /etc/modules.conf file alias char-major-81 bttv options bttv card=10 pll=1 vidmem=0xde0 radio=1 options tuner type=5 pre-install bttv modprobe "-k" "tuner"; modprobe "-k" "msp3400" post-remove bttv modprobe "-r" "tuner" post-remove bttv modprobe "-r" "msp3400" make sure you use the vidmem parameter based on your configuration. Didn't work but I am getting closer. As soon as I get the latest Driver updates from Xi, I am going to remove MetroX and replace the Xserver with Accelerated-X, and since I can't go Diving this weekend I'll spend sometime on the Wintv card....... I'm running the WinTV Go!, with the Bt848 chip and a Miro 3400 tuner. All I had to do to make it work was modprobe bttv && modprobe tuner You *must* load the tuner module on Huappauge cards, or you'll get no output. At worst, you may have to slightly edit /etc/conf.modules. As far as display resolution, in order to get displays that large, you'd have to interlace the video signal from the card. -- -=|JP|=- "Why, oh, why didn't I take the blue pill?"
