if you got the rpm from redhat's site, they are probably assuming that you are using redhat. they ship mootif with redhat 5.0, and yes that is the library.... but the odd thing is... redhat must have compiled it dynamically. On Fri, 13 Feb 1998, Frank Pawlak wrote:

Subject: [S.u.S.E. Linux] RPM Communicator Install
Hi
tried to install communicator rpm and got following message;
missing .....libXm.so.1.2
I believe that this is a Motif 1.2 lib. It is strange that Netscape would be looking for it. I installed Communicator by downloading it from ftp.netscape.com and had no such experience. However, I do have libXm.so.1.2 installed for my mailer, but I did the netscape install before adding this lib. Give it a try. Chrres, Frank
called up Yast to search all SuSE programs but no such library available. Can someone provide some direction as Im very new to this and would appreciate any info....
thanks
Chris
