[opensuse] Sharing printer on 11.0
Trying to share printers on my local network without any luck so far. port 631 UDP/TCP are open on firewalls, hopefully cupsd.conf allow local network, but cannot see any other printers. Also nmap to 631 to the other machine show it as close. So I fill cupsd is not properly setup, but! Any clue? I have found the default /etc/cups/cupsd.conf to be hosed since 10.3. To manage
cups try adding yourself to /etc/group "sys" group. Provide a cups password
with "lppasswd -a username", the just copy this to your /etc/cups/cupsd.conf
and issue "rccups restart".
Here is my config file (/etc/cups/cupsd.conf), it is generic and should work
for sharing on any small lan in a home/home office setting. I am using it in
10.3, I'll try in 11.0 later, but it should work regardless:
