WOW!!! How long, I wonder, until we can all hook into , not one network such as the internet, but one gigantic world wide computer ... so I could plug my handheld box into a huge computer and work from where ever I am ??? hmm, on second thoughts, maybe that *isn't such a good idea. I suspect I'm the only person on the planet w/o a cell phone or pager just because I DONT want to be in 24 hr contact w/ the whole world! I reserve the right to be in my own space for a bit , sans any interruptions, not even a land line gets answered once I log off ! I suppose , for our own good " we should all have one of those little gadgets they inject into pets around here. currently they are read by a hand wand type of reader, which names said pet and the owners. Useful in Hurricanse, tornados adn other types of disasters where the little beasties get separated. I suppose one day we'll all have them, and they will be read and our locations given by GPS as well. In the event one is lost strayed or stolen , that might be a "good thing" but at a horrible cost, I think, to individuality... Of course, all of you that use cell phones can also be tracked as long as you use the thing to a pretty close approximation of your locations , times , adn so forth.. and , of course they have a pretty good idea of "who" is using it ( otherwise bills would go to the wrong people entirely. "The wired" is coming true,.... yikes! -- j Afterthought : Police toilets stolen! Officers have nothing to go on!
