Anyone know what the plans are for 2.7? Is Linus going to be kicking that off soon? Is it going to have an overridding goal? (ie. 2.6 is about scalability I believe). Greg -- Greg Freemyer

I guess so, MAY BE 2.7 will end up as 3.0 though I've not seen any announcement, but presumably as Andrew Morton has taken on 2.6, it seems logical - there was some thought of going from 2.5.x to 3.0. I shall be keeping a regular check on the kernel mailing list. Regards Sid. -- Sid Boyce .... Hamradio G3VBV and keen Flyer Linux Only Shop.

Linus has now hinted at 2.7 as a split off from 2.6, seems fairly imminent and as usual, I'd expect very little early change, then the rapid ripping up of tracks as happened with 2.4 --> 2.5. Regards Sid. -- Sid Boyce .... Hamradio G3VBV and keen Flyer Linux Only Shop.
