If your looking for the system configuration files: begin with the files in the /etc directory and its subdirectories. User settings are in your /home and subdirectories. Thankfully, there is no registry in Linux. What are you trying to achieve ?
There are much better ways of storing application settings and data than
using the registry in Winblows.

You might take a look at the files in the /etc directory. These are most of the Linux configuration files - perhaps the closest thing to a "registry." I must say I am very very glad Linux doesn't have a registry! -Tim ----------------------------------------------------------------- Timothy R. Butler Universal Networks Information Tech. FWIW, you shouldn't be using the root account online. Running Netscape and getting online to send and receive mail (I'm taking a wild stab here, since you're asking about a registry in Linux) whilst in the root account is asking for trouble. Please use your regular user account, for your own sake. Monte root wrote:
