I'm looking for anyone that has gotten freeswan up an running on the list here. How easy was it, your views of preformance ect ect. Can a windows machine with the vpn client stuff loaded take advanage of the resource. I am in need in near future of maybe setting up a vpn for a remote office in another state for one computer an need to give this person access to our account software package on my network here. thanks for any views ideals. I have a freeswan instalation working, but i did it manualy, from a tar ball. Obviously i recompiled the kernel. (it was an old instalation, so i used 2.2.20). Depends a lot of what you wanna do! In my case i used the RSA public key, I made two networks visible to each other. If you want my oppinion, it works great. You can do hips of stuff, configure even Road Wariors, pass the key through the DNS. I'm not able to teel you if it's easy or not. I'm using Linux for about a year so it took me like two days to get it up and running. The windows client machine can also have access. You should finde examples and documentation on freeswan.org .
