I have been getting messages similar to these in my syslog today. It appears that you have something wrong with your drive. I used to get occasional messages from my WD 8.4 GB drive. Eventually, I called Western Digital, and they sent me a replacement on an RMA. In your case it appears you have some bad blocks. You can use the /sbin/badblocks command. I would strongly suggest that you back up the entire drive before you run the utility. Sean Rima wrote:
