I have installed the boxed OpenSuSE 10.2 on a new machine, an Intel Celeron D x86-64. Everything works fine except web search with Konqueror or Mozilla. It works for www.opensuse.org, google.com, and ups.com but when I try anything else it disconnects the external v.92 modem. KInternet log message: pppd[0]: Connection terminated. pppd[0]: Script /etc/ppp/ip-down finished (pid 19158), status = 0x0 Status is: disconnected pppd[0] died: A modem hung up the phone (exit code 16) Everything has been working fine on another older machine with SuSE 10.0. using the same modem and phone line. I am not using any network setup or firewall. Where do I look for the problem?
