ELSA modem won't connect after kernel upgrade
I received a little kernel upgrade tutoring and completed an upgrade from kernel 2.2.16 to 2.4.3 on Suse 7.0. Everything seems to be working great even though I mistakenly installed everything in the kernel instead of building some things as modules. Problem: I have an external ELSA 56K Microlink modem that was working perfectly under kernel 2.2.16. Since the upgrade, I can't get the modem to remain connected to the internet. The modem resets, dials, goes through login/handshake procedures, but the instant that it connects it hangs up. The modem sets up very easily using YaST2. I can't f figure this out. What am I missing, or what did I need to reconfigure? Thanks for your time and help. Mike michael.flug@snet.net
